Murchison Falls National Park


Murchison Falls National Park, with 3,840 square kilometers is Uganda's largest National Park. The park is cut in half by the Nile and its landscape varies from dense rainforest on the hilly ranges in the South-West, to undulating savannah in the North-West. The forest shelters many primate species, including Chimpanzees, while the river attracts various Antelopes, Buffalos, Rothschild-Giraffes and Elephants. These gentle giants are slowly recovering from the brutal slaughter they suffered during the civil wars, when they were used as moving targets for the army's artillery.

Bow Glacier Falls
Banff National Park Area, Alberta, Canada


The melt off the Bow Glacier (visible in the upper right of the photo) drains into a small lake at the foot of the ice, then plummets over a 150 meter wall where the Glacier used to extend down into the valley. Even when viewed from a far, this is a very impressive waterfall. This photo was taken near the trailhead to the falls, on the shore of Bow Lake just behind the Num-Ti-Jah Lodge with a 210mm telephoto. The falls are about 4 km (as the bird flies) away at this point, so if you don't walk to the base of the falls, you'll need a powerful lens to get a good picture.

Helmcken Falls is a waterfall on the Murtle River within the Wells Gray Provincial Park in British Columbia, Canada. The falls are the fourth highest in Canada[1] with a 141 metre drop.
